Day 18/30: How to keep your energy levels high 🔋
Energy cannot be created or destroyed, only transformed ♻️
🧠 Start with knowing yourself.
What’s your relationship with work? Do you have more workaholic-like tendencies, do you prefer having clearly delineated boundaries between work and the rest of your life, or something in between?
What activities refill your energy? Which ones deplete your energy?
Are there certain times of the day, week, or month where you have a higher or lower energy baseline than typical?
Could a low meeting or meeting-free day of the week help you create uninterrupted time for focused, deep work?
Do you have an appetite immediately after getting out of bed? Does having breakfast in the morning before starting your work day give you an energy boost?
What types of meetings do you have? 1-1s? Alignments? Syncs? How do you feel after each of these?
😌 Recognize and accept that you will have natural cycles of fluctuating between high or low levels of energy—and everything in between.
You don’t need to beat yourself up for not always having high levels of energy and being able to sustainably cross everything off your to-do list. Even machines need maintenance! ⚙️
🤔 Check in with yourself frequently.
Are you feeling lower energy than usual? Consider dialing back how much you take on to go with the flow of the state your body and mind are in now.
Are you feeling higher energy than usual? If you’ve been meaning to knock out something from your to-do list or try something new, why not make use of the excess energy?
Now I’ll pose some questions to you to reflect on:
What do you do to monitor your energy levels regularly?
What refills your energy meter?
What depletes it?
