Day 30/30: The benefits of a daily writing habit ✍️
Discipline, information synthesis, and a bit more confidence 💡
Thank you for following my 30-day writing challenge! I hope you learned something new and implemented a new tactic or two to and observed how it worked for you.
Reflecting on the past 30 days, I’m proud of myself for taking on this challenge and integrating writing time into the past month.
I was extra conscious of the activities I was spending time on and being disciplined about posting daily.
I felt more comfortable with thinking quickly on my feet, given that a turnaround time of one day isn’t much time—especially with adjusting to my new job, work-related traveling, Toastmasters, and the rest of my life.
I felt more confident with distilling my thoughts and stances from my experiences and knowledge to date down into a few hundred words.
I kept my inner perfectionist in check and feel more comfortable with shipping something that’s “good enough.”
Last but not least, the dopamine hit early on in the day as a result of accomplishing something early on in the day for 30 consecutive days was rewarding.
Overall, I’ve developed a deeper sense of respect and appreciation for folks who create content regularly and share their perspectives with the world. From conception to building out the content to marketing to releasing, —and everything in between—it takes a lot of discipline, dedication, effort, and time.
This 30-day experiment helped to reinforce that a monthly posting cadence is optimal for me at this time of my life to give the due diligence that I believe is warranted in reflecting on my product management journey and creating content that is authentic, actionable, and insightful.
Thank you for following my 30-day writing adventure, and I’m excited to continue sharing my monthly musings about the wonderful world of product management in 2023.
Happy New Year! ✨
